Cooperative Office Education

Cooperative Office Education is a career and technical program for high school seniors with an interest in clerical work. It is designed to affect the transition from student to employee through a combination of classroom instruction and on-the-job training in the business world.

The student attends school in the morning and receives on-the-job training in an office during the afternoon. Work in the classroom includes : Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), formatting business documents, telephone techniques, filing, work ethics, calculator skills, transcription skills, etc. Each student trainee receives three units of credit for the successfull completion of classroom and job performance.

COE is taught by a certified teacher-coordinator who is aware of the needs of both the businesssperson and the student-learner.

A successful Cooperative Office Education program is the result of cooperative participation by the school, the employer, the parent, and the student.

Any student wanting to schedule COE should see Mrs.Pellegrin in Room 211 during their junior year.
